Hello

My red texas cichlid laid eggs yesterday. I was wondering if I should take out the clay pot and place it in an aerated 10 gallon with just a heater.

My current tank is divided in two.

Any advise would be great.

Thanks

What male did she breed with? I would leave all of them together for now and just keep an eye on them. Try not to disturb them, watch them from a distance. You can try to feed the parents but start off with small amounts of food as the mother or father might not eat for the first few days after a spawn. If the male starts eating the eggs then remove him, but generally I like to leave the female with the eggs. And just like Azedenkae said some cichlids take a couple breeding attempts before they get it right, so if all the eggs turn white or just get eaten by the mom or dad don't worry about it they will get it right eventually. Sometimes it can take 7-10 attempts before they produce fry. Keep us updated.
