Hi, I recently picked up an Emperor 400. It comes with the area for the filter cartridges and then there's a little "cage" that gets inserted in front of the filter cartridge and before the bio-wheel. My question is what goes in the cage? More carbon- or some other media? What recommendations do people have for putting in there?

I run four filters. When the one in the back gets clogged I move the front one back and put a new one in front. Came with the refillable cartridges but never used them.
I have put API Ammo Chips in that chamber before.
Now I put a media bag [larger size than the gray chamber], with Purigen spread evenly inside. when I close it, that clamps down on the bag edges & they hang out a little.
Really polishes the water.
