I dont know, i however have a question for you, if you dont mind? Have you ever had issues with discus and rays together?

So far I have not. Had a couple of them get in the way of the rays when feeding and got trapped under them for a second. Other than that no. What problems have you heard of?

If they are doing that to discus at such a small size then they will be history when the rays get bigger

The ray looks like Leo or bd x motoro

They aren't going after the discus to eat them rather that they were picking on some food at the bottom and the ray grabbed the food trapping the discus. They let loose immediately tho, time shall tell.

It's a guess and a crapshoot but I could see this. Might have to wait until it ages a bit and see what the spotting does and if it blackens more.
