A small red patch has appeared on a juvenile black belt cichlid of mine and i have no idea what it is. The scale is raised and the area is all red woth a small white looking tip, or at least thats what it appears to be.. Here are pics, please if anyone knows what this is and how to treat it id really appreciate it. I dont think its an injury because ive watched the red area "grow" over the past few days

Try putting a drop of iodine or Methylene blue directly on the spot.

And uh oh whatever disease that is it doesnt sound good, ive never had any experience with it.. How do you treat it? This is new, i just got it about a week ago, i had it in quarantine for a day and a half, then the filter crapped out on me (old filter) so i had to put it in a main tank. About a day after, the spot appeared

Params look good. Take aquanero's advice. You can add some aquarium salt. 1 tbls per 5g of water. Step your water changes up.40 to 50% every few days. Good luck
