Yeah I know, "another one of these threads" right :). These are fish that you have kept, would like to keep, or would even just like to observe in tanks. These can be anything from endlers livebearers in a little 5 gallon to a whale shark in a personal public display tank. So yes it can be fresh or salt water. If you want you can say why you like the fish so much, where it's from, size, pictures, etc but you don't have to.

I'll start it off.

number 10: Giant Gourami (Osphronemus goramy) 28"+
Why: because they are THE most personal gourami out there, and they just look overall awesome!

number 9: Vulture Catfish (Calophysus macropterus) 24"+
why: these predatory cats will eat about anything you give them and they are not shy about eating at day! Also, just look at the barbels, they're only surpassed by the achara cat's.

Number 8; SA Red Tail Catfish (Phractocephalis hemioliopterus) 48"+
why: really...do you really even need to ask!?!?

Number 7: Arapaima (Arapaima gigas) 60"+
why: massive, predatory, personable, what more can I say!

Number 6: NA Flathead Catfish (Pylodictis olivaris) 48"+
Why: bad@ss, solo predator, cavernous mouth, Ictalurid, random phrases, don't make a sentence, but whatever:)

Number 5: Nile Perch (Lates niloticus) 44"+
why: just look at it, whoever said perch can't eat musky. If nile perch were even in the same part of the world.

Number 4: Achara Catfish (Leiarius marmoratus) 28"+
Why: pretty dang active for a pimelodid and just look at the barbels on this fish!!!

Number 3: White Bass (Morone chrysops) 10"+
why: this might surprise some but I've just always wanted a white bass. Ever since I caught my first one I thought "dang, that would look good in a tank". I can't even say I know any native keepers on here that have one but I just think one would look good in a decent sized native tank.

Number 2: Smallmouth Bass (Micropterus dolomieu) 16"+
why: I personally prefer SMBs to LMBs. Can't say why but I just love them so much more, although either in a tank would look awesome :). I'd love to watch one chase around minnows in a large native tank.

Number 1: Channel Catfish (Ictalurus punctatus) 24"+
why: probably THE most interesting catfish to me. How active they can be during the day, their massive appetites, the fact that many are active swimmers, some will surface and handfeed. All these things make channel catfish my personal favorite fish and they have been for a long time.

How about you guys?

My "most wanted" list - doesn't include my beloved Ameiurus nebulosus or Hoplo cats I keep/kept <3

Never been a SW person but I would go into serious debt making a gargantuan setup just for the cobbler and a grouper.
