Just got this guy, anyone have any idea what he is?

I'm thinking some kind of barb or carp..



He's about 10cm now but still growing.

Well its a cyprinid for sure....sorry I can't help you that much since I have no experience with Asian cyprinids.

Incorrect body shape for Balantiocheilos. Close up pics of the head, dorsal, caudal and adipose fins would go a long way in getting a correct ID; at least to genus level.
