Duck lips

Hey looking for some help to give a friend he recently lost. A few red terros to duck lips and does anyone know how they get it? Or is it contagious to other fish? Best way to treat it . Thanks any info would help

Duck lips is related to Flavobacterium aka columnaris. It is currently incurable. It is contagious

The Flexibactor bacteria is especially virulent at temps above 82'F, and tends to grow large populations in detritus of tanks.
So dropping temps to <82'F and doing lots of water changes with substrate vacuuming will help in preventing it.
