Hey

I have a little black calvus that stays in a cave all the time and when it's time to eat he comes out but seems kind of dense when it comes to seeing the food.

He's looking for the food but he mostly isn't alert or responsive enough to get a lot of it.

Is there a special way to feed them? I see on YouTube they all sort of just hang on the bottom real mellow.

Thanks

That's pretty normal.

If there are no other fish in the tank, then you need some dithers to bring him out more.

I see. I have cyprichromis swimming around. They are mid tank fish.

I have some shellies too. They hang on the bottom but are really active.

I thought of getting another calvus but only if it will help.

I've got a couple of calvus they hang around the caves mostly , pound for pound pretty tuff fish as mine are still small and don't take no crap from bigger fish ;) there really slow growers also
Mine love new era pellets there sinkers and quite soft in comparison to say hikari or NLS

He will become active soon. Just in their nature to stay close to the rocks

Hey, he's totally one of the gang now. He comes out all the time and actually swims to the food.

Cool
