hey guys, ive seen a few midas tht tend to grow big humps but some are not. does the hump size depends on its quality, does it depends on the food they eat, or does it depends on how mature it is for it to grow those humps?
need some answers as im growing some midas fries and im hoping they will grow big humps. i have another one in my pond at about 5", but it doesnt have any signs of hump growth. :L

It's multiple things, genetics, wether or not they are breeding, place in tank hierarchy, water quality, and individual fish. My father had some that only got humps when breeding or when they where big fish on top in the tank

I personally don't believe in hump enchanters honestly and even with good water quality and the like it could decrease, it could stay

Mutliple factors.

Hormones promote kok growth, not artificials ones tho.

Add a female but keep them from breeding. U will notice your males appetite go up. Feed him a little ,many times throught the day with out overfeeding.
Keep this up for 2 weeks.
If you dont see any improvement then i would blame it on genetics.
Its very rare to see a midas without a hump so i wouldnt get discouraged
