Daniel Athens, 23, was sentenced to 18 months in jail Monday for relieving himself on the limestone facade of the Alamo shrine

A Texas man was sentenced to 18 months in prison on Monday for urinating on the Alamo shrine in 2012.

Daniel Athens, 23, is not eligible for parole, and will serve the entirety of this sentence as well as pay $4,000 in restitution, The Smoking Gun reports.

This sounds a little bit too much... mainly the jail time. That costs us money. I think it should have been 6 months and $10,000 in restitution.

The same way you get the 4 grand out of him if he doesn't have it...take it from his paychecks.

Ha ha! Ozzy Osborne did that over 25 years ago, they banned him from ever coming back to Texas if I remember correctly.

What then if he is a vagrant?...I'm okay with at least a one year sentence and then deportation if applicable,for anyone who desecrates any national monument.Flagburners should get more time.
