Looking to having a new tank build and was curious to know your opinions on whether or not 1" is thick enough for an 8x4x3 tank.

i've been hesitant on this build since there will be a lot of water pressure and the length x width just doesn't make sense to me with 1" thick. I was concerned about the integrity of tank after 3-5 years down the line. How much would it bow? would the seams begin to craze or blow out?

let's discuss.

Thanks in advance.

Here you go you can play around with the numbers a bit, but note anything above 24 inches is just a nightmare. The higher vertically you go up from around 2 feet the thicker it has to be.

That's why most aquariums are 30 inches tall and never any taller unless its a custom order. My 220 (glass) is 30 inches tall and by this factor alone another 1/4 inch thickness was needed to compensate for the added pressure. Just something to think about.
