HBH here, NLS be the standerd. no mater what you feed supplement. fish do not live on pellets alone. they just exist.

I only my young cichlids Omega One color enhancing mini pellets, but once they hit adulthood I feed them Hikari Gold cichlids pellets.

I love new life spectrum, and I think that it can be fed alone to most fish.

But since the texture of new life is often very hard and dense, fish do not like to take it.

I got around this and supplemented my fishes diet by making it into a gel food.

I grind the new life with nori, and spirulina.

I add that powder to salmon, scallops, silversides, shrimp, krill, mysis, spirulina brine, "reef plankton", bloodworms, garlic, pumpkin, spinach, tomato, sweet potato, vitamins and more.

Everyone Ive ever given this to has eaten it.

Hikari Cichlid Gold.

Hikari and nls. It depends on the fish sometimes. Like my male and female jags don't like nls. They will both spit it out. But feed them hikari and they'll devour those pellets.

Right now I'm switching my peacock bass from hikari to nls. So far so good. But yeah, any of those foods people mentioned are the best.

Hikari carnivore pellets

Hikari Bio gold Plus as staple and Massivore delite evry alternate day....as far as pellets r concerned, havent tried nls as yt !!

....with that said, for me its a mixture:

50% NLS cichlid
25% Omega one cichlid
25% YourFishStuff veggie formula

Occassional frozen/live food & nori
