Just wondering if anyone on here has tried to breed these guys?
Its taken 4 months of trying different durations of light and temperatures to simulate summer. They are super sensitive to light and need sunrise and sunset for courting during breeding.

Over there
I've seen them for sale before but the shops can never get them to eat. They'll definitely try and trick me and say that they are eating or that they just fed them so they probably won't eat but if I don't see it eat, I'm not gettin it.

Male is holding eggs atm. The fry will be tank raised and eating frozen food by the time of sale.

Keep us updated!! Very interested to see your progress. Good luck with fry.
Can you give a little more info? Tank size, filtration, parameters, etc.
How did you simulate dawn and dusk with your lights?
How gradually did you adjust the heat?
What are you feeding?

Tank looks great! Would love to see more pics!! Good luck!

System: 3x1.5x1.8 sponge filter and 600L power head filter wrapped in a stocking.
System was just sponge filters but pipe fish prefer a bit of fellow. Tank has 20 to 25 plants, potted and unpotted. Temp is kept at 26-29c with hang in tank heater. Lighting is a led unit with built in timer and sunrise sunset modes. 15% water change weekly with 48h+ aged water. Fed wrigglers, daphnia, and small shrimp, live only. Still don't have them on frozen food yet but they are very close.

First fry batch: About 40 fry
20 removed and placed in krisel and the rest left in breeding tank.
Day 4: Breeding tank = 5fry
Krisel = 16 fry
Day 8 Breeding tank = 0 (got eatin as new fry were born)
Krisel = 9 fry (had heater fail on day 7. temp droped to 21c)
New fry tank is a 50L 2fter and should help a lot to keep things more stable, as krisel is to small but has worked well for marine pipe and seahorse
