hey all, been after a mala for a while and today the perfect opportunity arrived, my best lfs had three in stock and the manager was glad to feed them for me to see which was most active... needless to say i bought the one that instantly sprang to life when the carni sticks hit the water!-) had him home a few hours and he has instantly settled. i know he eats pellets as i saw in the shop so i thought i would try some other stuff, so far he's had a silversides head, thumb nail sized piece of white fish, half a small mussel, some turkey ham and too top all that of some flake food that drifted through the divider (hemichromis elongatus living next door!-) hungry little dude who has settled straight away and already swims up to see me when i touch the glass! can see us having a fun relationship here, very pleased! he is currently about 5 inch, in a few months once he hits 8 inch i will put him in my 300g community.

Cheers... well alone with a divider to 6 5star generals but just came home from a party and 4 were in with the wolf lol... slipped through the egg crate! Guessing the dominant jewel is a nastier prospect to them! Have to sort this in the morning!-)

Thats a cracking looking wolf, would live one eventually. What size do they get, and what tank mates work well with em? A lot of stuff iv read says keep em alone.

Comm with caution, some will be killers but I've seen it work with other fish that can hold their own, some say that about the red wolf but Ive always had bichir with mine and he does fine with cichlids that can hold their own
