Just set it up last night and its pretty level (thAnks lp) im gonna put a 2217 (not here yet) on it and also a little aquaclear 50 that i have running on the 40 gal since yesterday 40 gal is almost cycled still getting nitrites but been getting nitrates for over a week. I want to get this tank cycled asap but am using fish as an ammonia source just gonna move the danios from the 40 and get a few more. I also have a small media bag for ac20 that has been sitting in the ac110 for about 3 or 4 weeks is that little bag of media enough to jumpstart the new filters ? I dont want to do anything to mess up the 40 gal cycle.... im gonna run the crapp filter that came with it just for circulation and help with any sand particles.

can jump start depending on bio load/stock you put in.

the bacteria you looking for does not excist(sp) in the water, it lives on a surface, hence a large media surface in your filter that's continually getting good water circulation as it needs both oxygen and nutrients to thrive, jump start is a bit of a misnomer, The good bacteria does not move or free flowing. it occurs naturally, point of seeding a tank is to supply already existing bacteria while the rest of bio filtration catches up.

Thanks pops but do you think the small bag of bio that's been sitting in the my filter going to be enough?

Gonna put danios in there

just for reference i have a 75g tank i call the alphabet soup tank, about 35 fish total. cards, danios, tetras, barbs, blue gourami, and some other fish. all of them put together on a scale would not weigh as much as my female jag in the 180, 9" let alone my Oscar.
