I picked up a 3" baby black aro from jojo in the vendors section. Hes in a 40 breeder by himself at 80F and a sponge filter. Plenty of plants for cover. He already eats crushed hikari aro sticks too.

How often should he bed fed?

What size water changes should I be doing and how often?

Its covered completely with window screens weighed down with rocks. No way this little guy is jumping out.

I feed mine a pellet every few hours. If a pellet isn't eaten I take it out. If he wants it he eats it immediately. I do a 50% wc every week. Mines in a breeder by himself with plants for cover as well. He hangs out in the plants all day and swims around all night. Almost had him a month and he knows when the lid opens or I approach the tank it's feeding time.

He's grown about an inch in the three weeks I've had him. Orange on the tail is beginning to turn into spots. Threw in Apple snails and a Senegal bichir to get him used to other fish.
