Just made with that sturdy green foam that Walmart has in the flower department

I have clear epoxy in which I'm going to put several coats in hopes that it will strengthen it up

I thought about going and buying the cheap polyester bondo resin at lowes since it cures alot faster than my epoxy resin. Then after getting the foam coated several times with it and get the strength built up coat it with 2 coats of my clear epoxy

I had alot of fun making and painting these tonight

The foam is pourous which when painted looks like polyp holes :)

Well I changed my plan some. I'm gonna buy fiberglass cloth and resin the cut pieces of cloth all around each coral. Time consuming however I think they look great and its a hell of alot cheaper than buying artificial corals online

You mean coat my foam with it ?

I like the putty. But I can't get detail with it. Maybe I'm not waiting enought for it to cure some before detailing. That or maybe I don't thicken it enough with my thickener powder that I also bought from polygem

I may try coating one of my foam corals with it and see

I am gonna finish these two foam ones as is. Keep painting one coat of clear epoxy ech day for a couple of days.

I also cut out some more foam and coated with a 1/4 inch layer of 307 lite epoxy putty from polygem. Tommorow I will flip the pieces over and do the back.

Texturing is easy. I wasn't adding enough water. I took the pourous foam and just stamped it on the epoxy putty.
