Acrylic Light Plates

Hello

I just bought a 60 gallon 48x15x18 tank and I didn't get a hood, cover or lights yet.

I'm looking at an LED light system but wanted to get your input on light plates.

I called my LFS and the guy said to just pick up a sheet of acrylic from Home Depot.

What I want to do is cover those 2 large rectangular openings on the top of my Clear for Life tank to keep stuff out and the fight evaporation.

I might have a few plants but it's not really going to be a planted tank.

Any ideas are appreciated.
