Came home to find my jardini with a very cloudy eye. Looks like he possible ran into something, but in not sure.
The picture is my water qualities at that time, have since done a 50% water change, they wernt good but arnt very bad? The pic also makes them look darker, in person the ammonia and nitrate wernt actually that high.
What should my next action be? Add salt or is there a medication I can use.
Tank is 300gal with numerous tank mates, no other tanks in the house to move him to.

Is he going to loose his eye or worse, die?
Urgent help needed please!

I can't see the picture of him to see how bad the damage is on this phone I'll have another look when get home , I've had jars nearly loose eyes hitting big wood in past , he'll be ok as long as it doesn't get infected, clean water plenty of oxygen and movement, also add melafix dosed appropriately it works like magic on most external problems cuts/sores and clowdy eye
Hope it clears up ok , keep us posted on progress

Very much south..
Is it in both eyes or just one?

Don't fret. Do regular, day in day out water changes and aerate the water.

Just keep an eye on your ph, must be very low

Ahh that's good news!

He is about 40-45cm on estimation and 2 and a half years old.
That's a geo brasiliensis or however you spell it.

Tank mates are

2x oscars
1x jardini
2x jaguar
1x dovii
4x red devil
2x banded leporinus
3x peacock bass
3x synadonis
1x synaspilum
3x zonatum
5x silver dollar
1x common pleco
2x splendida
1x geo brasiliensis however you spell it.
1x Tandanus cat
1x Cuban
1x Umbee

It's in just one eye also no other fish show any symptoms.

Ph was quite low, have corrected now.
Had recently added drift wood which I assume caused the large drop in ph.

Wow nice stock man :D:thumbup:
If your jars not been on a killing spree yet it with all those tankmates you probably got lucky and found a placid one ;), I've always thought best way to have jar tankmates is safety in numbers spreads the aggression much like African cichlid tanks

Thanks!
Yea grew him up from 1.5" with numerous tank mates.
Think I got lucky!
And yea he chases the odd fish very rarely and it's never the same one so no one gets too stressed out.
