Just cleaned one of the canisters and changed water and the water was extra clean so I grabbed a couple random shots. How are my plants looking? Anubias has atleast tripled the number of leaves fron when I bought it about a month and a half ago and java fern is taking off well. Im dosing with liquid carbon daily and seachem comprehensive weekly when I do about 30% water change. Only inhabitants right now are a random angel fish and a couple bristlenose pleco. Any more experienced plant people have advice to make my plants grow better? They have a bit of brown algea on the edges of the older leaves, but look pretty healthy and are growing quite well I think20140504_142520.jpg20140504_142621.jpg20140504_142633.jpg20140504_142444.jpg20140504_142402.jpg

Wow looks great brich! Yes your water is super clean! I like your java, my javas are growing in almost a perfect column, I wish they'd spread out more like yours.

Thanks, the java fern only had a couple leaves survive but its filling in well, it gets a lot of flow so that might have something to do with why its growing all over. I want to get amano shrimp to eat some algae but im afraid because its rimless and ive had them crawl out of tanks before

What lights are you using? It might be worth looking into doing some light dosing of the water column since anubias and fern get nutrients straight from the water.

I'd also recommend getting more anubias and fern maybe....just cause I like having more heavily planted things going on. There are also a bunch of different varieties and species of both.

The light im using is a kessil a150w 32 watt led pendant. Im thinking I need to be dosing better because the light is pretty powerful and im just using one basic supplement right now. I wasnt sure exactly what I should get and there are like 9 million kinds of liquid ferts. I like the seachem line and am using "flourish comprehensive" once a week. Also adding liquid co2 daily. I wanted to get more anubias, specifically anubias golden but just havent ordered any yet. With the rate its growing now I may just wait and split these in half soon

Very nice tank, I love rimless tanks!
Thank, I was going for a simple clean look on this one. Since I cant have a huge tank right now im trying to go a bit "nicer". Im contemplating wether I should get glass lily pipes or drill it for the canisters to make it look more clean but I still have that ugly gray skimmer to deal with
