Having someone watch the rays while I'm gone for a few days. Is it okay to thaw, deshell, cut up, and refreeze the shrimp for the rays? I've done it before but not sure how safe it is.
Thanks Jim

I do it all the time. I cut 2lbs of tilapia, refreeze and use over a week plus. And I do it with shrimp and tilapia when I go on vacation.

Restaurants do it all the time. Just make sure you take proper precautions. Keep everything clean and keep things as cold as possible. I always use a bowl of ice water to rinse the shrimp after shelling and then drain them in a sieve in the refrigerator. Once decently dried you can freeze.

Same here. Thaw, per-cut and measure out portions for each tank and re-freeze in individual containers. Person feeding just adds water and dumps in. This way you can be sure the person watching your fish doesn't over feed.
