Introducing Claudus!

Just a sneak peek for starters, this is Claudus, a red devil juvenile that I caught in Miami (along with 30 or 40 siblings lol) when he was less than an inch long. I noticed a fry swimming funny, and isolated it when I realized he had no tail! I soon re-introduced him back with his siblings when I saw he got around just fine. At about 2 1/2 inches, he's still doing great!

I found the pair guarding the school of fry near the shore of the canal. I scooped between them and got a portion of the babies while the pair took the rest to deeper water... It was pretty cool to watch them regroup the remaining fry and rush them away, past hungry peacock bass, largemouth, and sunfish. I'll try to find a picture in my computer later of the parents in the canal...

I definitely will keep updating! He's one of my favorite fish currently.
