Hello not sure what forum to put this so if its wrong can a mod put it in the right area.

Looking to buy a 300 gallon acrylic tank 8x2x2. Has some scratches but nothing terrible. Also comes with a wet/dry,pump and UV. No Stand though. What is a good price for this in your opinion?

Cheers,

Davey

I would say $250-300. Just depends on how bad the scratches are. I bought my 240 gallon for $950. But the tank was in great condition with very very minor scratches. You can even see them if your standing next to the tank. Mine also came with 2 300 Watt heaters, 2 90 gallon hob filters canopy, lid covers, lights and stand. Stand was in perfect condition also. It's your call.

How much is the person asking?

Was asking $600. But got him down to $400 but that's when I thought it was a 300 gallon. Just after I wrote this post It hit me a 8x2x2 is a 240. So now I'm thinking around $325 or so would be a decent deal?

Can't find that kind of deal around here. A 240g acrylic is at least $500.

It's your call. Prices vary in different areas. In the bay area California, prices might be cheaper cause you see a variety of tanks on Craigslist all the time. I remember picking up my 100 for $180 that came with stand, canister filter, aquaclear 70 and gravel. It needed some cleaning but it was well worth it. It's your call on buying it. If you do, now you have to go out and find a stand or make one on your own. Let us know what happens.

Can't get a hold of the guy to look at it. There is a glass 300 gallon that came on Craigslist for $500. Tank, stand and canopy. . Glass sounds incredibly heavy. That's my only reservation
