Resealing inside of tank question

My tank has a 2 inch side lip on each side. do i need to remove the silicone around the bottom and the black trim if all i want to do it the inside seals corners??

I'd dig it out of the corners and go for it. Just remember new silicone doesn't stick to dry silicone so if it does "meet" make sure your new silicone cover the old bead to touch glass. I did the same thing about a month ago...

so can i leave the top trim alone?

I cant figure out what the 2 inch side part is used for on this big of a tank beside glass top support. Its only silicone around the top and bottom not the sides to much.

If the top us strong I would leave it. Its above the waterline so shouldn't make a difference.
