Hello all,
Ive really been considering going a little bigger these days. We have two savannah monitors and a 30+ breeding colony of leopard geckos right now. And our local store has been getting two sumatran water monitors about every other month now. And weve really been considering adding a small guy to our collection. Weve also considered nile monitors lately also but to me nothing beats the size of these guys. We have our two car garage converted in my man cave with a couple of large tanks and our lizard collection. I would love to see your inside enclosures and just overall hear from water monitor keepers. We also have a retired 12ft bird aviary in our shaded backyard that im considering repairing and maybe having a temporary summer enclosure to use also. Im in vegas and our summers reach over 110 for three months out of the year and i figure a large water monitor could do very well in an outdoor enclosure when larger. The bottom of our aviary is concrete so overall i would have some updating to do but ill have a little bit of time. Im considering using our old savannah monitor wood hatch we built for the grow out which is 6ft long by 2.5ft wide. I would love to see your guys enclosures and just insight. If all goes well theyll have their shipment on June 12th and ill go from there. They only get hatchling or small always less than 8".
