So im going away to college and want to set up a 5-10 gallon tank that i could take with me no problem. I looked at standard 10 gallons and don't care for the dimensions, i would prefer something around 12 by 12 by 12 inches, which is about 7 gallons. Rather than pay for a tank i wanted to look into making one, but am considering doing something a little odd and making it out of glazed porcelain tiles for 3 sides and the bottom, using just one glass or acrylic pane for the front. I'm really good with woodwork and would probably make a wooden outer frame, but just wasn't sure if these tiles would work. Ive seen people use them for decor before. They would eliminate much of the need to cut out glass as they come 12 by 12 as a standard size and are much easier to cut (i have a masonry saw). Would anyone see any problems with there use to actually make the tank?
