Just picked up a tank from my girlfriends friend and I've noticed that it has a few cloudy blotches on the glass. I've tried cleaning it a little bit tonight with lime away and scraping it off but it doesnt look like its working too well. When I put water on it, it seems to disappear until it dries. Anyone know what I can use to clean it?

Use a utility knife blade works great does not scratch just don't hit the silicone

I have a tank like that, I've tried razor blades, acids, just about everything I can think of.
The film/haze temporarily disappears when wet, but always comes back.

I've had that issue with SW tanks with salt residue, but have had luck with razor blades and water. Is it hard water residue since this is not saltwater?

If they're hard water stains u can try a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water. Add baking soda to make a paste, then coat the stains and let it sit for 10 mins to loosen the mineral deposits
