I can't answer your question,
But I love the idea of planted Geo tank, please provide photos of tank and fishes.

what are the dimensions of the 135? the problem with most LED lights are that you won't have very good spread, meaning you'd probably need multiple fixtures or one really massive LED (which would probably be kinda expensive)

Also, i love planted geo tanks, they are awesome :p

In my old 125 I had swords, green tiger lotus, onion plants, and anubias growing under a 48" sat+. When I upgraded to my 235g I added (2) 36" sat+ fixtures to account for the extra 12" of depth. My severum and silver dollars would eat java moss as soon as it hit the water so I don't have experience as to how it will do but don't believe it will be an issue.

I have the tank up and running right now but I'm trying to clear out the rest of my African Cichlid Peacocks that I have then I will start setting up. I got most of the stuff now Driftwood , plants ect. As for the types of Geo's I will be doing geophagus surinamensis-geophagus altifrons- (6) big clown loaches. I was thinking of going with either beamswork Led or Marineland Doublebright Led.

I have a 48" Current Sat+ on my 135gal. It's plenty bright for my tastes, however I'd imagine higher light loving plants like Swords would want more. Beamswork now makes LED fixtures geared towards planted tanks, so I'd definitely look into them. I would not go with the Marineland as the K ratings of their LEDs are not very good for plants.

Also, check out these.. http://www.ecoxotic.com/e-series-led.html

This is the 135 gallon setup without fish was wondering if common plecos are bad for this type of setup. my Jungle Val is getting destroyed and am not sure if it's the clown loaches or pleco?
