Can anyone id these sores? They were small pink mounds and then flattened out and look like this now. I have treated my tank with salt, but without knowing exactly what is causing them, I have not started a more focused treatment plan. Any input on what is the cause would be appreciated. Also, I don't think it is a wound caused from another fish as it doesn't seem to heal the way a wound would. Thanks...

Thanks...looks like it, right? I have both antibiotics for bacterial infections and fungal treatments as well, I just want to make sure I treat for the right one. Don't want to over treat...but it just won't heal or go away...frustrating. However, the Jewel is not showing any signs of being sick other than then sores.

I've seen that happen, but not in this case. I don't even have my heater running since my Marineland C-530 keeps my tank at 84 degrees and is trying to cook them (I am waiting for a replacement unit as wee speak). It's just this lingering sore that will not heal...it has been like this for over a month, but like I mentioned, the jewel is showing no signs of illness...just this pestering wound that will not heal :irked:
