What does dither fish mean?

And please come with some examples.

Does it mean a fish that are to fast to be eaten, yet small enough for a fish to view it as food, therefore distracting larger fish from fighting each other?

Sorry, I'm not English.

I could just use google, when I think about it.

A fish to distract an aggressive fish. An example would be something along the lines of silver dollars or larger tetras or barbs

i removed the FM and put him in my 55g.. the GT was acting way too aggressive... i didnt think he would "court" a FM.. guess they are too similar in color(s)?
