How about 3 silver dollars? If you add cichlids I would try smaller growing fish with your others that will get large and claim most of the tank.sometimes smaller fish can be seen as little or no threat.HRP, cutteri, rainbow, panamesis

The syn is a beauty but gets too big (17").. I'd like something 8-10 ish.. As for the pumpkinseed, also a gorgeous fish but from what I've seen and heard they get extremely aggressive (as sunfish ) ...thanks for the suggestions so far!! Any other ideas?? Much appreciative

Syn don't get 17", 12" to 14" is the max for male. Syn adds red and gold color and is a gentle giant that makes good tankmate.

Your right, more like 12-14" they are truly beautiful.. I'm making a list and going to take this to some pet stores hoping I can get something ordered.. Too many petsmarts around my way .. Any other thoughts!

You could put a Jack Dempsey or an Ebjd. They get around 10" and get along pretty well with Oscars. For the most part!
