Not sure if it is technically a pleco, ottos are great for planted tanks. Think most plecos would be ok for a planted tank so if you are looking to keep pleco as your main fish just get what you want

Not so much my main fish as I will have some discus also. I've read some plecos will eat your plants, I guess I'm just trying to avoid those.

Havent heard of plecos eating plants although it could happen I guess. More likely they knock plants over and uproot them if you get a bigger species. I have heard of many different plecos attacking flat fish like stingrays and especially discus to eat their slime coat. Bn are safe with discus as are otto but those are the only 2 ive heard recommended

Ottos, they are the best algae eaters for a planted tank.

I was looking into buying L200 myself, but they have a tendency to eat plants.
I wouldn't risk it, but they are stunning.

Any meat eating plecos should be fine, like the Zebra pleco, expensive as hell though.

I think Queen Arabesque (spelling....) is suitable, and IMO looks better then Zebra and considerably cheaper.

Best pleco is the bristlenose.
Most other plecos are meat eaters and will harm your discus.
