Using a "Critter Cage" tank to hold water?

I bought a 35g Breeder (36"x18"x 12" tall) that had been used for a snake, and was planning on re-siliconing it and using it as my new darter tank. I noticed looking at it though that is says on the bottom in big letters "Critter Cage" and in small letters "Do not fill with water". Is there any reason if I re-silicone it that it won't hold water, or won't be safe?
Thanks!

(OR should I just resell it on Craiglist and buy a 40g breeder at Petco's $ a gallon sale?)

I have a couple Snakes and on their enclosures the glass is thinner as well is the silicone bead,I thought about using one for fish once, but after comparing to an aquarium I passed. You could probably find a buyer/swap in the reptiles sub.*
