Trip to Chiapas for cichlid "hunting"

Trip was amazing. It rained a lot, which made collecting difficult but did catch some jewels. See my avatar. I took some pictures but not as much as I wanted, as I wanted to take the beauty in with my own eyes, rather than through a camera lens. Highly recommend visiting that part of Mexico. The eating was amazing. Pictures next!

That vieja species, in above picture, made it back to LA with me along with several wild Petenia splendida juveniles and a couple other vieja. So many cichlids!
