So my conjags are in a community tank and I guess they felt comfortable enough to lay eggs again. I have some of their 4 month old fry growing out in another tank, so I wasn't really looking to grow anymore out at the moment. They were terrorizing my other fish...who are already terrors themselves so I knew it would not end well. I decided to remove the wigglers while I vacuumed my tank and got met with a bit of resistance. Not a surprise, but they got me better than I had anticipated. Here are the pics of the parents guarding their eggs and my hand after I reluctantly and with a heavy heart removed the eggs/wigglers.

Wow that's pretty intense. I have a whole new appreciation for the way my ram will try to go at me during breeding time, mostly because this can't happen :naughty:

The male is about 8-9 inches and the female is around 6 inches... however the male looks like he is almost twice her size. I vacuum, do a 75% water change and rearrange all the rocks about every 3 days. I don't like debris building up underneath the rocks and it keeps all my fish from getting to cozy in one spot (which tends to keep my aggression and egg-laying to a minimum). However, this time they worked quickly, lol. I will probably wear gloves if I have to ever mess with their eggs again...it feels a lot like a cat scratch and carpet burn put together. They are ferocious parents... I will give them that.
