Caught three of these today while fishing about 14 miles offshore due east from charleston SC. ALL fish were released and unharmed. Definitely some type of sand sharks.

IDK, the mouth was pretty far indented from the eyes and the eyes looked smaller than a smoothhound. But I'm not a shark expert, these were my first three I ever caught. Here's a clearer picture.IMG_0703.JPG

Definitely a dogfish of some sort. 2 dorsal fins, no anal fin. Hard to count the gill slits but dogfish have 5.

Scratch that. Didn't see the anal fin in the first pic. I'm at a loss.

The 2nd dorsal is too small for Smoothies. my vote is for Atlantic sharpnose, The spots are a bit of a give away ;)

Ok thanks guys! @zoodiver, "juvi" hey I worked hard smashing my ribs with the rod handle to catch that :D
