Snakes From Kentucky

These are snakes I catch around KY.

I'm at Red River Gorge now and caught my first Black Racer but found out that someone most likely beat it with their paddle, found it in the middle of the river where we were canoeing.

All snakes are released unharmed.

Snakes below are:

Garter Snake
Black Rat Snake
Queen Snake
Rough Green Snake
Norther Water Snake
Black Racer
Ring-Necked Snake

Soon to find snakes:

Copper Head
Rattle Snake
Milk Snake

More Snakes

More Snakes

And a Salamander

That's the first and only one I've ever found in KY, was caught in Nov few years ago when it was warm for Nov.

No copperheads or rattle snakes were found at Red River Gorge but we are going back in Sept so hoping for at least a copperhead. I have a friend at the KDFWR that directed me to some tin sheets the state put out for the snakes, none were found possibly because of all the rain, I'm hoping they will be there next time along with my new snake catcher and pole.
