Guys, just have a weird thought... any of you guys tried to make a silver dollar only mixed community tank? How big does a tank need to be if one wants to attempt this project?

I enjoyed my SD community only tank (plus one bichir).

Tank size really depends on the species of SDs. Ideally get SDs that grow small to medium size so you can house them long term. Large sized SDs like wide bars will outgrow the rest and start bullying the smaller ones. 120 gallons and up is a good tank size. Pic is of a 120 gallon tank.

I have five different species in a 240 that includes 5 Redhooks that are an unbelievable 16 years old! I have only had those for a few months. A ladies mother died and they belonged to her. She knows the age since mom got them the year she graduated high school. One is failing because it has a hard time getting food due to cataracts. They are all deformed with bent spines and damaged mouths from banging the sides.
The other inhabitants are wide bar, tiger, hipsauchen and argentus. There are also 3 indo dats. It is amazing how much food they eat!
