Hello i am planning to build a plywood tank that is 4'x4'x2'. Plywood would be 3/4" and was thinking if i can do a euro brace that is 8" all around. Is this possible or is this just something waiting to burst? thank you for the advice
thanks for reply, pond shield for sealing the wood. gonna give it a go within a few weeks once i get some time off. just finish with the stand, well sorta needs a paint job.
I'd do perimeter bracing if you want to the tank to last a long time. If you don't there will be a little bit of flex movement every time you fill and empty and tank or do large weekly water changes. Over a 4+ year period, that will weaken the joints, where you may start seeing crazing and micro-fractures in the seams.
