Sump noise

What's the best way to quiet down the water going back into my sump? It sounds like mouth gorgoling. I drilled holes in the pvc to let more air in it but that never helped the problem.

make it fall onto something like filter batting or floss to lower the amount of impact and noise

I have the pvc pipes 2 or 3 inches under the water. Do you think that has something to do with the noise?

Is it the actual overflow in the tank or where the water goes into the sump? If it's overflow, make some Durso stand pipes, if it's in the return of the sump, use some filter floss

What type of stand pipe (where the water drains from the main tank) do you have? This is the problem. The drain in Tue sump is best left under water IMO
