My 65 watt emperor aquatics uv sterilizer with no wipers has been shining light through the black housing. It's as if the paint has faded on the far side of the housing, light is coming through real pale. Strange thing is end closest to plus is completely black still. Would you guys paint it? My fear is it is losing uv light exposure to my water if it's not contained within the black paint. Does it make a difference? Any creative solutions or tips to make this not happen again? Bulb is burnt atm anyway.

Be careful UV light can damage your eyes, I will let another member chime in about the paint .

If you are worried about it, contact the mfg and complain. Ask them if they would consider replacing it, and if the answer is no ask what to paint it with. If they make no reccomendation use Krylon Fusion. I see it recommended on here as fish safe paint.
