Hi guys this is my first post ive been a long time lurker and finally decided to take the plunge.

I just ordered a AGA 90g megaflow reef ready from the LFS, that will be arriving mid August. Ive got the sump in my posession, an old 40b and the stand is nearly built. Im torn betweenordering a mag 9.5 or 12. Ive done lots of reaearch and plan on going 1.5" on the return. Ive coservatively estimated that with approx 6ft of height the 9.5 will be doing around 5-600 gph and the 12 around 800. I am running a herbie set up, 3/4 main siphon with a gate valve, 1" emergency. Im using slipxslip bulkheads and running straight 100% uninterrupted no bends etc, down to the sump where they will be submerged. (for max flow rate) I plan on enlarging the teeth on the overflow weir. I know the mag12 is overkill for a 3/4 siphon

So my question Is, will the mag 9.5 break in or wear in over time causing lower flow rates? Am i better off buying a 12 and running a tee and ballvalve back into the sump to get my desired 600 or so gph turnover? The head ratings of these pumps are Impressive, are they as good as they seem to be? from your experience what can a 3/4-1" herbie safely handle? And lastly am i ok running 2 spraybars off 1 magdrive pump? Its a rough sketch any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

I also have a marineland maxijet utility pump rated at 475gph (about 200ish with head) that could use along side the mag 9.5. To get my desired flow. The safety of the redundany could be nice.
