Has anyone tried putting Arapaima in koi pond in CA during the winter? I wanted to find out if they can take the CA cold winter in a koi pond that is not heated? Also wanted to find out how they are with Koi fish together? Please share any experience that you might have.

If you keep the pond at 70F or above, they should be able to take it - assuming the animal is healthy.
Depending on the arapaima, small fish might end up food. If the arapaima is acclimated to only being hand fed, then they stand a better chance.

I am in SoCal (San Fernando Valley). We can get pretty chilly sometimes. It can get down to the 40's during some winter. I know that it's not cold like other places but it's cold for tropical fish.
