Hand crafted 3D Background - What do you think?

A friend created his own 3d background for his new 90 gallon.

Your thoughts?

Step one - dow corning one inch insulation:
Step two - King/sakrete Hydrologic cement coat for texture
Step three - More coats of cement
Step four - Drylok and cement pigment (abusive kiddie pool soak test)
Step five - Detail of rock
Step 6 - Silicone in place.

Excellent work! I like the way he added the little piece to help conceal the overflow.

Very cool. Looks great

Thanks. I think he did a great job as well for a first time background maker, and a new fish keeper to boot!

Looks good! I like that he didn't build it as a solid background piece as I prefer the broken up look with a black background myself. :D

Yeah, I think it adds more depth.

Neat. I hope I could pull something like this off one day in the future for cichlids or other fish.
