Becket submersible pumps from HOME DEPOT. Use a foam pre filter to protect the impeller shaft or use it to draw dirty water into your filter. They generally last me 4 to 6 years used 24/7. I have two of them in two fish ponds. There is no cost difference on my electric bill. It is very well hidden under the water and I have fountain returns.Lagunas are built well and are fairly efficient. Rios are a little more efficient but a little more cheaply built.
