What would be your ideal large aquarium? Mine would be a 1500g aquariumall tricked out to look like an Amazonian habitat, with mixed sa cichlids and anything that comes from around that area. So....what would you do with 1500g if you could have a tank that big?

My dream tanks all ways been a 1000g, couple big aros and like 50 large clown loaches. The reason I say 1000g and not 1500 is becuz you have to think about maintenance costs and water changes, not to mention cleaning it out.

Mine would be a one thousand gallon but one made like those public aquarium displays with the big waist high viewing glass, open top and well done artificial branches, roots, rocks and the whole bit.

When I buy my house in the next year im probably going to go with a 210 or something in that realm that's still fairly practical and movable. I have my heart set on cold water natives. Put em in the basement. No heaters. No problems. Heating really big tanks is the one thing that turns me off. Heating the room probably becomes cheaper.

750-1000 gallons, running a 200+ gallon 3 tank aquaponics system for filtration inside its own room; with the main tank built in wall for display. Large in line filter for a constant drip system that feeds just the right of overflow to adequately water a nice greenhouse out back ;)

SA/CA mix of course, to include my current stock and more of the fish on my "to keep" list.

Bonus if I could get it to run off a well and power the whole thing with a solar system! :D

55 was large once. Then I got a 125, and so on. I am about to put my (almost) 600 in service. I guess big will always be something I dream about in realistic terms. For me to go bigger means a maximum 12 ft X 6 ft footprint. It also means getting rid of most of my other tanks, so I doubt I get any bigger. I don't think my wife will let me have more real estate in the house, and I will be 56 soon. I don't know if I will want to mess with giant tanks at 70.
