Hi guys. First of all sorry for my english. Iam from Czech republic. My father gave me silver arowana. Its really rare fish here not like yours arowanas:D 15cm about 150usd.
But first problem is. i always wanted arowanas and oscars. Now i have 200x70x50 cms ist about 210 gallons. I need sell/give away some fish right now but it takes some time so need advice for this few days/weeks.

Here is tank:
1xsilver arowana
4x oscar
2x Andinoacara rivulatus
2x Jack dempsey
4x Heros rokteil
1x gibbiceps
1x Panaque nigrolineautus

Want give avay: 2x rivulatus, 2x jack dempsey for start.

But main problem now is I have arowana for 3 days now. Oscars attack to arowana only first hour now its okey. But arowana doesnt eat no pellets no crickets no shrimps. i am little scare
Oscars are eating all food really fast and arowana just swimming away.

Solutions: a)Have 1 free 30gallon tank..maybe for few days to start eat??
b)do some "wall" in aqarium and seperat 1/3 of tank for arowana for few days to aclimatization and eat?
c) just wait??

Thank you guys for recommendations..In my country inst enough knowledge about arowanas.

He looks pretty small depending on how the oscars are doing with him, I'd most likely throw him into the 30 gallon to get more comfortable and not skittish and getting attacked so he can settle in and eat more. Eventually the arowana will be big enough to go with the oscars but you never know how they will interact with eachother. My personal opinion would be get rid of all the other fish and have him settle into the tank by himself and then slowly add fish smaller as he grows and form a community tank with him as the king of the tank bc the arowana is always the king of the tank.

Arows are best kept alone untill they reach 12" and ur oscars r big enough to eat the arow... so seperate the arowana asap...
Nice tank

A, put him in a 30 gal. Make sure u use some gravel/bio media from ur established tank to the 30g to jump start your cycle.

Yeah, I agree with the rest that you should separate the Silver Arowana and bulk him up before introducing him back into the Oscar tank. Based on sizing, he will most likely be bullied/killed :(

yes my oscar was even smaller than my arowana and he killed my arowana pls remove him immediately. And if you like your arowana i suggest you give away the oscar because the oscars at that size have already established territory and even when you put the arowana in the big tank even when he is 12 inches he is going to get killed the only way this is going to work is for the arowana to be much bigger than the oscar. remember oscars are cichlids and they are aggressive. good luck bro :)

as you said and i can see he really get stress in that tank, move him to 30 gallons tank, to make sure about the water, you should get the old water in that 210 gallons tank and he will be okay. Good luck, my friend!
BTW 150$ for a silver aro is too damn hight!!! @@! with 150$ i can have a perfect highback splendour!

For such a "rare and expensive" fish you'd think one would do some research before getting it. IMO moving to a 30g is going to be just as bad as keeping it with the oscars. That aro should be around 18" before housing it with cichlids that size.

Best to just get rid of the arowana. Your tank is going to be to small for it anyways. Or get a proper sized grow out tank for it. Then plan on getting a bigger tank to put the aro and oscars in once they are compatable in size.

Thank you all for replies..I am working on "cleaning" tank for arowana. Today rivulatus and jack dempsey go to another house. Next week i have to say goodbye to oscars:(..
I will just keep 3 severum (really peacefull fish) and plecos..The good thing is that aro will have nice grow up tank and now i can fully plant tank..maybe i will add some tankmates with good manners to plants.. some tips?

Hi friends...With little luck i made it before weekend..Rest of oscars went to small regional zoo..SO here it is now..tank mates 4x heros + 2 plecos..looks really good.
Aro looks good as well..Swimm all over the tank but still doesnt want to eat..have black mollyes and crickets...But i did some search and the best way is learn aro to pelets and dry food..But sometimes aro doenst eat for month to lear it:( Is it true?
