I'm on day three of 90 degree F heat 5 gallon water changes 2x a day, 5 table spoons of table salt the first two days, ( wanted the iodine) switched to sea salt today and 2.5 ml of jungle ick treatment ( drawn up in a 3 cc syringe) per water change.
Fish affected are clown loach, bala shark, leopard bush fish. ( AKA leaf fish)
SO far everyone in the tank is alive, plants included. ( accept the original infected fish)
I made the mistake of bringing home a fish from a big box pet store the wife liked and not quarantining it.
When I took the fish back they admitted they were treating all their tanks.
I'm going chemical warfare on this stuff it's the 3rd time in my life I've had to deal with it.
read the stickies about salt and the ones about ick.
I probably don't need to be as aggressive with it as I'm being, but I'M GOING TO KILL IT!
Fish are going to die if I don't anyways.
I treated my Jack Dempsy and Oscar the same way and didn't see it again for 3 years those two fish survived two TX's like I described above.
Day six I'll stop the jungle ick, and continue the heat, water changes/gravel vac., and salt for a total of 12 days.
