Unpredictable lil guys.....

Suspect anything as a cause?

I just got another batch of these guys and have already lost a few.

Thanks guys. I am bummed.

This was the dominant male that had just started to hang out with my larger female. I was getting ready to play romantic music. In the wild, they start to pair up at 1 year ... I got them as fingerlings in early January...

As for the cause of death: I have no clue. No outside marks. I prophylactic ally treated them extensively for parasites when I first got them: they are known to carry worms. No tankmates were added. I only feed Hikari pellets. Never fed feeders.

It's a mystery.

Maybe got spooked and ran into the side of the tank. Who knows. But the nose looked fine.
