The only Payara that I know that has a red dorsal(and tail) is Hydrolycus tatauaia. They're know specifically for their red tail which is a unique trait among Payara. Just check the Payara ID thread or post a pic of your Payara as it sounds as though you may have a Tatauia instead of an Armatus but can't say for certain without pics.my armatus has larger tail and red dorsal
